Grassmannian Connection Between Three- and Four-Qubit Observables, Mermin's Contextuality and Black Holes

چکیده
We invoke some ideas from finite geometry to map bijectively 135 heptads of mutually commuting three-qubit observables into 135 symmetric four-qubit ones. After labeling the elements of the former set in terms of a seven-dimensional Clifford algebra, we present the bijective map and most pronounced actions of the associated symplectic group on both sets in explicit forms. This formalism is then employed to shed novel light on recentlydiscovered structural and cardinality properties of an aggregate of three-qubit Mermin’s “magic” pentagrams. Moreover, some intriguing connections with the so-called black-hole– qubit correspondence are also pointed out.

It from Qubit: How to Draw Quantum Contextuality
Wheeler’s observer-participancy and the related it from bit credo refer to quantum non-locality and contextuality. The mystery of these concepts slightly starts unveiling if one encodes the (in)compatibilities between qubit observables in the relevant finite geometries. The main objective of this treatise is to outline another conceptual step forward by employing Grothendieck’s dessins d’enfant...
متن کاملStringy Black Holes and the Geometry of Entanglement
Abstract Recently striking multiple relations have been found between pure state 2 and 3-qubit entanglement and extremal black holes in string theory. Here we add further mathematical similarities which can be both useful in string and quantum information theory. In particular we show that finding the frozen values of the moduli in the calculation of the macroscopic black hole entropy in the ST...

Abstract Recently it has been observed that the group E7 can be used to describe a special type of quantum entanglement of seven qubits partitioned into seven tripartite systems. Here we show that this curious type of entanglement is entirely encoded into the discrete geometry of the Fano plane. We explicitly work out the details concerning a qubit interpretation of the E7 generators as represe...

We find multiple relations between extremal black holes in string theory and 2-and 3-qubit systems in quantum information theory. We show that the entropy of the axion-dilaton extremal black hole is related to the concurrence of a 2-qubit state, whereas the entropy of the STU black holes, BPS as well as non-BPS, is related to the 3-tangle of a 3-qubit state. We relate the 3-qubit states with th...
متن کاملGeometric contextuality from the Maclachlan-Martin Kleinian groups
There are contextual sets of multiple qubits whose commutation is parametrized thanks to the coset geometry G of a subgroup H of the two-generator free group G = 〈x, y〉. One defines geometric contextuality from the discrepancy between the commutativity of cosets on G and that of quantum observables. It is shown in this paper that Kleinian subgroups K = 〈f, g〉 that are non-compact, arithmetic, a...
